Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that he had never lobbied for the post, "neither during the first term, nor during the second term". Gadkari, who is currently in Nagpur, defended himself against the corruption charges against him saying that he never indulged in money-laundering.

Threatening to sue those who tried to defame him, Gadkari said that he was aware of how some media houses "routed money through Mauritius and London". "I will expose them all at an opportune time," he said.
